News gallery book
the end of this blog!
This will thus be the last post to this age-old php/mySQL news script that has served pyktech for the last... umpteen years. As such, I will now be posting on my new blog here--
Paul Kerl's New, Fancy, Bodacious blog-post-space

So check it out everyone, and thanks for supporting the site to this point, it's been a blast. Note that it has just recently been decreed to continue blasting, and maintaining "blast status." Also, the main index-page to pyktech will soon become my new fandangled blog, and this page will be gone forever. In the meantime... click the link above or whatnot.

For a parting note to this script, here was my first post to pyktech--

5:57 pm October 18, 2002.
"w00t? We shall see."

And thus pyktech moves on... sniff.

so dry it hurts.
Working on some-odd three hours of sleep now... so bear with me while I attempt written communication. Also, jokes.

Spring break plans anyone? I'm thinking... Madison, WI will do quite well. In fact, that is the exact place I will be. Quite ridiculous? Oh yeah. If you're around, let me know, we'll hang like it's friggin' 1998, or perhaps even the mid nineties. Lost episodes anyone? Oh yeah. The (US) Office episodes anyone? Oh yeah.

A party and one half it will be. Perhaps even rounding up to two.

In other news, Greg had a good idea of making a link-blog that our friends could post to, or perhaps a regular blog where we can post. I like the idea, and it has potential for success, and I'm all for it. It would require little setup, and could be a potential forum for useful discussion. So that's another potential project to chalk up on the virtual whiteboard--which is an idea for some content on this site.

For all those that have tried talking to me as of late, I have been pretty swamped. Luckily, that means a few projects will becoming to fruition soon (Emmie layout finishing and the Forest Service web project). Personally, I'm pumped to finish that site. It's taken wayyy more time then I (or anyone) anticipated. Plus Invasive Plants? Badass. For those that are also swamped, I empathize with your situation.

Until next time, take it easy everyone.

Current Projects
In an effort to organize my life, but moreso to inform the reader of my ongoing musings, I have constructed a list of my latest tasks and projects, none of which are school work.
So here they are, take a look
  • NoIMDay. This has been a side project of mine for awhile now, so take a look. The actual day is April 8, 2006 if you don't want to look, but if you want to know more, go ahead and check out the site.
  • No IM Day shirt store. I'm making some sweet shirt designs for that site--mostly for me, but also for others that are interested.
  • vorbs. (still no ideas for this guy)
  • ???.com I've got a free domain... anybody have any cool names? Otherwise I have a list of available names--I'll put them up as a poll sometime in the near future.
  • Emmie Magazine Layout. I have taken a Head position for layout, and thus have devoted my life to more unpaid labor--but my name appears in the front of the Magazine, so that's cool.
  • [unlinkable] Forest Invasive Plant website for the Wisconsin DNR -- Good news, this site will be finished at least by the end of March, and at the most, by the end of this semester (!). Luckily, I am paid for this position.
  • Nathan Kerl's Captain James Cook website. I helped my brother put on some very simple google adsense ads, and salvaged his site from the grasping hands of Tripod and its ever-so-prevalent Ad-frenzy. For those unknown to Nate's project, he made this in 10th grade, and since then has recieved over 700,000 hits total. Pretty impressive for a 10th grader.
  • Pezerific Paul's Pezerific Pez page. Oops.
  • Finally, Paul Kerl's personal site, pyktech.com. This site is simple for now--I'll be adding more features in the future as time allows (Gallery 2 anyone?).
That sums it up. Until next time kids...

updates
The current setup is sort of bunk--it's going to change in the next few months or weeks. I have a tight photo idea as well--typical of many blogs, which I will most likely be implementing, as a proof-of-concept to myself.

Other than that... internships for summer and a couple side projects, Emmie Magazine, the DNR site, Physics Research here and there, Finance Committee, another Music for America Show, and School of course are all on my list of main priorities. Side priorities are vorbs.com (ideas?), this site, another site which will be announced eventually, applying for internships and deciding what classes in which to finish off my senior year with.

That's it. Go live kids.
